Kurla railway police arrested two touts on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting a railway passenger, who complained against their black-marketing of railway tickets at the Mulund reservation centre.

“Kalpesh alias Bobby Chorge, 24, and Rohit Khade, 31, both residents of Anand Nagar in Thane, who were booked under Sections 307 (attempted murder) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC, will be produced before the court on Wednesday,” said senior inspector Shivaji Dhumal of the Kurla railway police.

Complainant Anis Khan, a garment factory owner living in Mulund, said, “I complained to the railway authorities about touts operating in and around the Mulund booking centre for the past one year. But, the RPF personnel posted at the station who are in collusion with the touts leaked my complaint. The touts thrashed me outside the Mulund reservation centre on February 4 apart from robbing cash Rs8,000 from my person,” he said. Khan then lodged a complaint with the Kurla railway police, which booked the accused and made the arrests.
