More than 150 Puneites on Sunday participated in a rally organised by the Pune branch of India Against Corruption (IAC) to meet the anti-corruption crusader, Anna Hazare in Ralegan Siddhi.

The IAC Pune co-ordinator, Deepak Bharadia said the rally started at 9 am from Joggers Park in Vimannagar and reached Anna’s village around noon.

According to Bharadia, Anna addressed his supporters that lasted for nearly an hour. “Anna shared the experiences of Delhi and Tihar jail with the supporters. He guided us with our future plans for our struggle against corruption,” Bharadia said.

The IAC volunteers also unveiled a badge saying ‘I will not accept bribe, nor will offer bribe’ in Hazare’s presence. Quoting Hazare, Bharadia said, “The Jan Lokpal Bill will curb corruption in the nation by 60-65%, the rest depends on the people themselves.”

“We will continue our active involvement in the anti-corruption crusade led by Anna,” Bharadia said. “Hazare looked very jovial during the interaction. However, he is not getting the rest he needs as a large number of people throng the village demanding his time,” he added.
