A ninth standard girl of Zilla Parishad high school in Umbarda Bazar village has become an 'unmarried mother' on last December 17, as she delivered a male child in a hospital, police said today.
The 14-year-old delivered the child in Karanja Tahsil Town in the adjoining Washim District according to her family and police sources. As condition of both mother and newborn child was deteriorating, they were shifted to the General Hospital here. While the child died yesterday, the condition of the mother is reportedly progressing.
The minor's mother is no more, and her father was not in town when a youth from her neighbourhood Pravin Angad Ingole took advantage of the situation. He developed a relationship with her, resulting in the pregnancy, police added.
