Ten days after an unidentified body was found in the parking area opposite the Haj House near Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the police arrested three men and booked them for murder.

The police have also identified the victim as Sachin Panchal, a resident of VP Road who ran an AC repair business.
On March 1, a parking attendant spotted the body and informed the MRA Marge police, who did not find any document or identity cards on the body.

A constable, who was at St George’s Hospital in connection with another case, met Pushpa Panchal who was looking for her missing brother at the morgues of various hospitals.
The constable told her about the unidentified body, Pushpa told him that she wanted to see it.

“Pushpa identified the body and told us it was her brother, who had been missing since February 29,” said senior police inspector, Padmakar Juikar.

During investigation, police learnt that Sachin was last seen with his three friends Mukammal Ali, Taqir Ali and Naeem Sheikh, when they had gone for a drive on the night of February 29.
The police called them for questioning and they reportedly confessed to having killed him to rob his jewellery and cash.
