Zee 24 Taas awards unsung heroes from across Maharashtra

Zee Group's leading Marathi channel, Zee 24 Taas, felicitated eight unsung heroes from Maharashtra on Thursday in Mumbai, as an encouragement for their valuable work for various causes without any expectation.

Zee Group's leading Marathi channel, Zee 24 Taas, felicitated eight unsung heroes from Maharashtra on Thursday in Mumbai, as an encouragement for their valuable work for various causes without any expectation.

Dr. Subhash Chandra, chairman of Zee Group, Devendra Fadnavis, chief minister of Maharashtra and Dr Uday Nirgudkar, editor-in-chief of Zee 24 Taas and chief of dna, felicitated Girish Prabhune with the lifetime achievement award. This was the seventh Ananya Sanman annual award function.

Prabhune, 66, is a social worker who devoted his life to uplift deprived nomadic tribes in the interior parts of the state. Prabhune has been striving to provide education, health services and employment to tribes such as Pardhis. 

Other awardees include Morshikar Guruji from Akola for his contribution in the field of education in interior parts of the state. He was awarded by Education Minister Vinod Tawde and educationist Renu Dandekar.

Second awardee Tejrao Kannar from Jalna was felicitated by agriculture minister Sunil Tatkare. Kannar, who does not have either of his arms, has shown courage in ploughing his five-acre field himself with the help of his wife for the past 31 years.

Shrinivas Shindgi was awarded by actor Manoj Joshi for his contribution in the field of theatre for children for more than 65 years. 

Cricketer Zaheer Khan and minister Chandrakant Patil felicitated Sadanand Jadhav for training rural children in archery in his low-key academy Eklavya Dhanurvidya Academy in Amravati. The academy has trained at least 88 state level gold medallists and two international level gold medallists.

Eleven-year-old Amit Pawar was felicitated for Bravery for his fearless action of saving three girls from drowning. Ex-top cop Arvind Inamdar and minister Balasaheb Thorat felicitated the little boy. Dr Subhash Chandra announced that he would bear all the expenses for whatever higher studies Amit wants to pursue.

Minister Subhash Desai and well-known social worker Baba Adhav felicitated Bharti Lonege and Rehana Behlim for working for the education of prostitutes' children and also opening five schools for children of farmers who have committed suicide.

Dr Vivek Bhide was felicitated by Subodh Kumar, vice-chairman, Zee Group, and minister for environment Ramdas Kadam, for his contribution in saving the environment in Ratnagiri, where Vashishti river is being polluted by more than 400 industries.
