Youth makes lewd calls to nurses, arrested

The Agripada police on Monday nabbed a 28-year-old man for allegedly making obscene phone calls to nurses working at the government-run Kasturba Hospital at odd hours in the night. The suspect has harassed at least four nurses, one of whom is the wife of an assistant police inspector.

The arrested accused, Balkrishna Nadar, 28, works as a cook in an Andheri hotel.

According to the police, the nurses started getting calls on one of the hospital’s landlines a few weeks ago.

One of the victims took the mobile number from which the calls were coming and lodged a police complaint.

The police studied the call data records and learned that the caller was in constant touch with a woman. “We took that woman into confidence. With her help, we  caught Nadar on Sunday night,” an officer said.

During interrogation, Nadar told the police that he once worked as a cook in the canteen of Kasturba Hospital and knew the nurses working there.
