The world has begun to take note of the meticulous planning and excellent coordination by Indian authorities in evacuating its citizens from strife-torn Yemen.
While the government has ensured safe return of over 3,2000 Indians, the success of Operation Raahat has prompted many countries, including the US, France and Germany, to seek help of Indian authorities in getting their citizens evacuated.
"Requests for Indian assistance in evacuating from Yemen keeps growing. On last count, 26 requests received," tweeted Syed Akbaruddin, spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs.
Keeping their differences aside, India and Pakistan have been rescuing people of both nationalities without formally approaching each other.
"We will end our air evacuation efforts from Sana'a tomorrow, 8th April. All who want to avail should leave tomorrow," mentioned Akbaruddin.
Apart from 3,200 Indians, as of Tuesday, India has helped in the rescue of people from several countries.
Assistance provided by Djibouti to India has been crucial in the success of Operation Raahat. Djibouti has been the base of operations where Indian Air Force's C-17 globemaster aircraft, passenger liners and naval ships have been pressed into service.
It is from Djibouti, C-17 ferry evacuees to Mumbai and Kochi where they are provided with further assistance to reach their respective destinations.
