Xavier Institute of Communication (XIC) hosted its annual fest, Istoria, at St Xavier College on Sunday. Istoria was conceptualised on the premise that story-telling is the essence of the communication industry.
Five colleges – Sophia Polytechnic, ISBM Pune, Mumbai University, XIC, EMDI Mumbai – participated in the event where XIC (journalism) emerged as the “Best Contingent”.
In keeping with the theme of the event, a number of competitions were organised like Montage, It’s all write (creative writing), Footloose (dance), Metronome (band event) and Cut to Paste (spoof-making) – all reflecting emotions that go into telling a story.
The college honoured six of its noted women alumni who have displayed excellence in the industry of communication.
Public relations consultant Veena Gidwani, also a faculty member at XIC, said that the “public relations industry recognises XIC as the premier institute in public relations education”.
The evening saw stunning performances by Split Sole Dance Academy and the band Indo Gypsy.
