Mukesh Pawara, a student of RC Patel Boarding School in Waghadi, Dhule District, has secured 91.4 per cent in the SSC Board examinations, in the face of financial troubles. His father, Mohan Pawara, is a farmer in Kolid village and does not earn much. So, Mukesh has been working in a hotel to cover his school expenses and hasn't visited his family the whole year.
Talking about his son's achievement, Mohan Pawara said, "No one in our family is educated. Mukesh is the first person who has passed SSC. His 91 per cent feels like more than 100 per cent to us. I am very proud of him. We don't get to see him for years as he works during his vacation. In fact, we didn't know that he is employed. He wants to become a doctor, and I know he will succeed."
Mukesh said, " I went to a boarding school. During vacations, when all the other students went home, I went to the city to work and pay for my education. Every year during vacations I worked as a waiter. My father doesn't earn much and I had to fend for my school fees. I would send home whatever remained after paying the fees. My father has done everything he could. My boarding school teachers have helped me throughout the year. I want to study science and become a doctor and make my parents happy."
Pralhad Pawara, the school's Head Master, said, "Mukesh is a soft-spoken and humble student. He knows how to battle the odds and has always performed well. Despite the economic hardships, he never gave up. Right from Class 1, he has always stood first. Now, in the SSC Board exams, he got 99 in Science and wants to become a doctor. He has made our school proud. A bright future awaits him if he gets support from people."
