Woman pushed out of running train, survives

According to Kalyan GRP, Rekha Naval, the victim, was travelling from Nashik to Thane when the incident took place.

A 22-year-old woman survived after being allegedly pushed out of a running train between Kalyan and Thakurli by a man on Friday. The Government Railway Police has arrested a man for the incident and for travelling in a ladies' compartment.

According to Kalyan GRP, Rekha Naval, the victim, was travelling from Nashik to Thane when the incident took place. The accused, Dinesh Yadav, got into the ladies' compartment with his wife Rita. When Naval went to the washroom, they got into a fight, and in the heat of the moment, Yadav pushed Naval out of the running train. Naval sustained severe injuries.

"We have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and have arrested the accused. We are investigating the case further," said Rupali Ambure, DCP, GRP.

"The woman is out of danger and is recuperating at Fortis Hospital in Kalyan," added Ambure.
