A 55-year-old woman working at a roadside eatery in Kasara, Thane, was allegedly gangraped by two boys following which they were arrested, police said on Thursday.

The accused, Bhagwan Bhagat (22) and Rajendra Singh Thakur (23) came to the eatery at Mokhavane village on Mumbai-Nashik Highway on Wednesday on the pretext of having a meal.

Sub-inspector Kamalakar G Ghosalkar said, Bhagat and Thakur called the woman, who works as a dish washer at the eatery, out of the premises saying they wanted to ask her something. As the woman came out of the restaurant, the two dragged her to an isolated place behind the eatery and took turns to rape her. She was threatened by the boys with dire consequences if she reported the incident.

However, the woman did file a complaint against the two accused and the police were able to arrest them on Wednesday night. Police are currently investigating the incident.
