As Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is preparing a blue print to revive the grand old party which faced biggest ever poll debacle in Lok Sabha and in some Assembly elections too restructuring all district units, Mumbai Congress has also decided to shed its laziness.

The city unit which has gone into hibernation post Assembly elections has finally woken up to play the role of a responsible opponent by attacking the Sena-BJP led municipal corporation of Mumbai exposing their "misrule".

"The party has decided to "expose" the Sena and BJP over the issues of arbitrary hike of the BEST bus fare, property tax and parking charges making common man to suffer more," says Janardan Chandurkar, the president of the city unit of the Congress revealing the party's plan of a huge protest rally on January 20 in front of the BMC head quarter.

The other major issue on the cards is corruption in the BMC, says Chandurkar. "The BMC is the centre of mammoth corruption and there is direct evidence of BJP and Sena's involvement into that. The BMC spent a whopping Rs30 crore in establishing a green energy venture in Satara in the year of 2010. It has emerged later that the company doesn't exist," alleged Chandurkar.

Congress also said that the prices of the crude oil has gone down drastically but the Centre has not passed on the benefit to the people proportionately, an issue which party plans to take up in the rally.
