With the Mumbai police not making any headway in the murder of Andhra techie Esther Anuhya, whose body was found in Bhandup, her parents on Friday met Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde, seeking arrest of those involved in the crime.

Anuhya’s father SPS Prasad said, “Shinde assured all possible help in nabbing our daughter’s killers.” Prasad alleged that they did not receive any help from the Mumbai police and the Maharashtra government. The 23-year-old techie’s burnt body was found on January 16. “No parent should face the trauma and mental agony that we had to bear while looking for her,” said 59-year-old with his wife Jyotsna standing next to him.

In a letter to state home minister RR Patil, referring to his meeting with Esther’s parents, Shinde asked the state to conduct an in-depth inquiry and take stern action against the guilty.
