From Tuesday, Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (MMOPL) has provided internet inside the Mumbai Metro trains. Earlier, it was accessible only at the metro station.
Metro has begun paid Wi-Fi service at all the installations over the 11-km long corridor.
Earlier, in July, paid internet facility was introduced at the 12 metro stations. Users can avail of the service for free for the first 15 minutes, thereafter he/she has to purchase coupons.
Many commuters believed that having Wi-Fi at the stations was not feasible as one is at the station only for 5-10 minutes.
Providing an uninterrupted service right from Versova to Ghatkopar, means an individual can switch on the Wi-Fi for half-an-hour that is when he/she enters or exist the station.
