Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray on Sunday dropped sufficient hint that his party will ally BJP in the ensuing assembly election. He made it amply clear that Shiv Sena will not play spoilsport and it will not betray the alliance partner.

Thackeray, who is currently visiting the Konkan region during his Jan Ashirwad Yatra, defended party's preparations in 288 assembly constituencies saying that it is being done by both the parties to assess their respective strengths. Thackeray's indication at the seat-sharing arrangement between Shiv Sena and BJP comes at a time when the duo are currently engaged in hard bargain.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray have been repeatedly pointing out that the alliance will continue for the ensuing assembly election slated for October, but they refrain from sharing further details on the tricky issue of devising a mutually agreeable seat-sharing formula.

Thackeray defended the incoming of Congress and NCP leaders in the Shiv Sena and BJP. Former NCP ministers Jaidutt Kshirsagar, Bhaskar Jadhav, Dilip Sopal and Sachin Ahir and former NCP legislator Pandurang Barora have joined Shiv Sena. Kshirsagar has been immediately inducted in the Fadnavis led cabinet while rest are expected to be given Shiv Sena candidature. Former Congress legislator Nirmala Gavit has defected to Shiv Sena.

On his plunge into electoral politics, Thackeray said he is prepared to fight the coming assembly election. He will do so after ''aadesh'' (order) from the members of public.

DNA broke the story on the poll preparations by Thackeray and his party Shiv Sena in the Worli assembly constituency. He has already started reaching out extensively to voters from the constituency which is a mixed bag comprising slums, BDD chawls, and posh and imposing high-rise buildings. Aaditya is being considered as Shiv Sena's chief ministerial candidate.
