The BJP will not hold any more talks with the Shiv Sena on a possible post-poll alliance. Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis made it clear that talks with the Sena had been stopped for now.

Fadnavis said since the Sena sought the post of the leader of the opposition, despite repeated requests by the BJP not to do so, there's no point in talking with them. Fadnavis' statement came after his meeting with BJP National President Amit Shah.
He said the expansion of his ministry would take place after November 20. Fadnavis said action against a few more Congress and Sena MLAs, who tried to prevent the governor from entering the assembly building, are possible.

Is it a pressure tactic by BJP?
It's possible. Though Fadnavis has said no more talks with Sena on post-poll alliance, talks were happening at the central leadership level of the BJP. Uddhav Thackeray attended the oath-taking ceremony at Wankhede Stadium after just one phone call from Amit Shah. So, anything is possible.

Without Sena, will the BJP survive?
Right from day one, the BJP has been claiming that it enjoys majority and would prove it on the floor of the House. It has been thriving on the compulsions of other parties since it is not possible for the NCP to openly support the BJP in the House and the BJP knows it. "That's why we are not exposing them (NCP) and they are not embarrassing us" said a BJP leader. "We would be doing it (proving majority) smoothly in the House since we have many other tools left, which are constitutional though may not be morally right," he said.

Was BJP still in talks with Sena?
Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam and Milind Narvekar, who is considered as Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray's emissary, called on Fadnavis just before House proceedings began on Wednesday. After this meeting, Narvekar told a few media persons that talks with Fadnavis proved futile and the Sena would oppose the government.

Why are the Cong, Sena not taking to streets against trust vote?
As BJP minister Vinod Tawade said, both the Congress and the Sena were too late in demanding a division of vote. Even Fadnavis has claimed that half the Sena MLAs were out of the House when the Speaker called for a voice vote.

What action will be taken against unruly MLAs?
Fadnavis said action could be taken against a few more MLAs involved in the alleged manhandling of the governor after the trust vote. He said 15 Congress and Sena MLAs tried to prevent governor C Vidyasagar Rao from entering the assembly. Action had been taken against five of them, and inquiry was going with regard to the remaining 10, the CM said.
