A BJP activist has approached the Mumbai police alleging that a man known as Anil Mishra had gained unauthorised access to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and top guests during Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's swearing-in ceremony on October 31.

The Special Branch of city police has confirmed that no VIP pass was allotted to Mishra for attending the event. This can be considered a serious security breach if the claims of the BJP party man are found to be true.

"On the swearing-in ceremony day, Anil Mishra was found near the VVIPs such as Modi and Fadnavis, who enjoys Z Plus security covers. He had got his photographs with them and other dignitaries such as Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah clicked and had uploaded them on social media," claimed BJP activist Sanjay Bedia.

Bedia alleged that Mishra appears to be into some nefarious activities. He said that Bedia had also claimed to be an advisor to Food Corporation of India, a central government organisation. "Mishra, a resident of Malad (E), who was earlier booked for using a Government of India logo on his car by the Charkop police in January, this year," Bedia said.

As per Bedia, Mishra's proximity to so many VVIPs on an important day is a serious security lapse as the passes were allotted by the police for the special invitees for the ceremony.

"Mishra was earlier associated with the party in Bihar but was suspended in October. A photographer is also believed to have breached the security. I had made inquiries with the Special Branch of the city police whether any pass was allotted to Mishra as they were distributing the passes. The branch gave a written reply that no pass was allotted to any Anil Mishra by them. I have therefore written in this regard to Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria and Chief Secretary Swadheen Kshatriya to look into the matter," said Bedia.

Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria said, "Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone I) Ravindra Shishve has been asked to conduct an inquiry into the issue of Anil Mishra."
