Verbal tiff among two friends leads to murder

Shamshuddin Moharali Shaikh, a 27-year-old resident of Kalwa was accused of allegedly killing his friend and neighbour, Shahid Asadali Shaikh. The victim was injured on his head with a bamboo stick. The accused killed the victim by brutally beating him up with the stick.

Both, the accused and the victim worked as fishermen and were close friends. They had a small tiff amongst them that led to the fight. On Monday morning, the accused invited the victim over his place to discuss business ideas. While discussing about the fish business, the victim hurled abuses at the accused. This triggered the accused and he started beating up the victim profusely. After succumbing to the injuries, the accused left the victim at the spot and fled away.

The accused was arrested on the same day and produced in the court, he is under police custody till December 31. A case has been registered with Kalwa police station. A Bhambre, investigation officer from Kalwa police station said, "The accused and victim were involved in same business and the weapon used for murder has not been detected yet. Further probe is on".
