Vastu advice, the in thing for buyers

In today’s uncertain times, home buyers are not taking any chance and are consulting Vastu experts before buying a house.

“Earlier, air and light were the major factors while buying a house. Vastu experts were not part of the decision in the 1980s. But over a period of time, families were going through a lot of turmoil and did not have any answer for it. It is then that they realised that it may be because of the vastu dosh. Now, they want to rectify these mistakes by showing the flat to vastu experts first,” said Raviraj Ahirrao, vastu expert.

Kailash Patil, a Thane-based real estate agency owner, said, “Nowadays, people have different demands and requirements. I have been into the real estate profession for the last 15 years but have never seen such a high demand for vastu experts. It consumes a lot of time and delays the buying process. Many good flats have been unsold due to the so called vastu dosh. It is ridiculous.”

Paras Gundecha, president of Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry, said, “We try to integrate possible vastu suggestions at our residential projects.”

Bhagwan Rayani, from NGO Janhit Manch, has filed a PIL against the practice of vastu shastra. “The so-called vastu experts are cheating gullible people,” he said.
