Most of the complaints regarding hall tickets for Higher Secondary Certificate (class XII) exams have almost sorted out, and if there are any issues, they can be sorted out by the college principal, assured Mumbai division Vashi board office. The Vashi board office has received around 350 issues so far where there were discrepancies in the hall ticket.
Laxmikant Pandey, chairman, Mumbai division of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, said, "There was hue and cry regarding the hall ticket issues, but the number of students facing this problem was actually very low."
He added that most of students have already corrected the mistakes on their hall ticket. The board has also waived off charges which was earlier charged for the corrections in hall ticket.
However, the cases of students receiving two or three hall tickets with the same name but with different seat numbers was very low. "The photo issue in the hall ticket can be corrected by the college principal as they have record in their colleges. But they need to inform the board if students are having problems in their name and other details, as the board will also make changes accordingly in its record. So, there should not be problems for students in future," added Pandey.
With exams about to start in a couple of days, students are apprehensive that there should not be any problems at the examination centre. "I have got my hall ticket corrected. But I am scared that there should not any problems at the examination centre," said a student.
There are a few colleges in Navi Mumbai that have not received any complaints from students about problems in the hall tickets. "We have not received any complaints from students. Now the exam will start in a couple of days, I will pray there should not be problem," said a faculty of Vashi-based junior college, adding that since it is a computerised system, such mistakes are bound to happen.
