Next time you go to drop someone at Terminal 2 of the airport, you can hand over your car to a friendly chauffeur for valet parking instead of wasting your time in looking for parking space. Your car will be securely parked by selected personnel in specialised reserved parking zones and brought back to you as you leave the airport.

The airport administration at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) has started valet parking service from November 4 for guests coming to Terminal 2. Ten chauffeurs have been appointed to carry out the services, airport officials said.

The officials added that this is aimed at providing convenience to the guests so that they can spend more time with the passenger whom they come to drop."

"The service is available round the clock," said an airport official.

As per the CSIA website, the charges for valet parking is Rs250 for the first hour and an additional Rs200 for every subsequent hour. The charges for normal parking is Rs110 for up to 30 minutes. It increases to Rs180 for up to 3 hours and so on.

According to the airport officials, the facility is available at departure level 4 (lane 2). The counter for booking valet parking is available at gate 2 and 6.

As per the procedure, once you hand over your car, the chauffeur will conduct a manual screening and report any visible dent or scratch on a receipt. Furthermore, a list of baggage or goods (if any) inside the car will also be taken note of, before handing over the receipt.
