The untimely death of three young men who drowned while picnicking in Uran on Monday, has left their Nerul neighbourhood shocked. While two of the boys were cremated in Navi Mumbai on Tuesday morning, the body of one of them was taken to the family's hometown for the last rites. All the three boys were active socially, and had only recently formed a social group to help the needy in their neighbourhood of sector 16 and 18 in Nerul.

Of the three, Sanket Dhuri, 19, had just given his class XII exams. Since his mother is an active member of a political party, Sanket too wanted to pursue a career in politics.
The other two are students of ICL college. Mangesh Ghorpade was a first year student of B.Com and just finished his exams. Shailesh Kadale was studying in the same college and class, like Ghorpade. Ghorpade's father has private job, whereas Kadale's father is working with the BMC.
The youngsters drowned after venturing into the water near Uran dam while they were clicking selfies. The 7 friends who accompanied the students on trip are still in a state shock.
Sanket had his birthday on April 10, and had gone to Uran Lake with his friends to celebrate.
A family member, Vipul Mane, said: "All three were extremely mature boys. Sanket and Mangesh had made one social group in their society. From that Shivajayanti, they began helping poor children with their education."
Mane added: "We received the three boys' bodies at midnight and conducted the funeral of Sanket and Shailesh in Nerul cemetery on Tuesday at 4 am."
The Ghorpade's have taken Mangesh's body for his funeral in their village at Satara.
