The Railways continue to fight fire at Bandra station as another fire broke out within the premises on Thursday. At around 4 am, the food stall on platform 4 caught fire and was soon enveloped by huge flames.

"It was shut last night at 2 am as per daily routine. All the electrical equipment was switched off and shutters were down. At 4 am, the staff noticed fire inside the canteen and tried to douse it with available fire extinguishers and water. No casualty or injury to any person or passenger is reported in this incident," said a WR official.

The station master and other staff tried to control the fire as they waited for the fire brigade to arrive. They finally managed to control the fire by 5.10 am. Sources said that the authorities are looking into the possibility of an electrical equipment being switched on which resulted in the fire. WR has ordered further inquiry into the matter.
