Unknown explosion burns three minors in Airoli

Three minors of the same family from Yadav Nagar in Airoli were burned after an unknown explosion occurred near the cow shed of their house on November 2 at around 5.30pm. The three minors, Abhishek Vishwakarma, 8-years-old got 26% burns, Ajay Vishwakarma, 15-years-old got 84% burns and Vivek Vishwakarma, 7-years-old got 14% burns. They were rushed to the Thane Civil hospital.

According to the officials of the Airoli police station, the initial investigation revealed that the three were playing in the cow shed near their house when Ajay found something similar to a cassette. He showed it to his elder brother and threw the unidentified thing on a pipeline nearby. "The object exploded as soon as it hit the pipeline and Ajay was thrown almost a 100ft while the other two were thrown at a distance of 50ft.

The locals gathered on hearing the explosion and they were taken to the hospital. Though no case is lodged, further investigation is on. Ajay, who knows about the object, is still under critical condition, however, we are investigating the matter further," said an official.

The father, Laxmishankar Vishwakarma, 32, said, "I was in Gujarat when I received a call about them being injured, I cancelled my meetings and rushed to Mumbai. We are bit scared to send our children outside to play now."

Abhishek Vishwakarma, the victim shared, "In evening when we were playing, Ajay showed us a shiny object, before we could say what it is, Ajay threw it on on the pipeline and then I was unconscious. We play everyday there, but after this explosion I fear playing there again."

A doctor from Thane Civil hospital said, "Ajay has received 84 % burns and we have given all the treatment"
