Ulhasnagar police receive call from Vasai claiming plan of bomb attack at Bandra station

A phone call on December 9 has left police officials from Ulhasnagar control room in jitter. The caller informed the police that he overheard a conversation between two African nationals at Vasai about planting a bomb around Bandra station.

The caller informed that he was shocked after listening to the conversation that took place in English and immediately decided to call the police helpline. The police official who attended the call at the control room immediately transferred it to Thane control room where the call was recorded.

The officials at control room in Thane consulted senior police officials, who alerted Mumbai Police.

However, the police are tapping the number and are going through the call details with other basic investigation.

A police official said, "The call came during afternoon and the location was Vasai. We noted his complaint soon but are yet to identify the caller. We will also check whether the call was a prank call or not. We have told senior police officers about the information received and have asked them to stay alert. Investigations are on, but we cannot disclose the details."

Vijay Kamble, Thane Police Commissioner said, "We are aware of the call and have informed the Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS), cyber cell, Crime Branch and other special teams to work on it. Further probe into the matter is on."
