Two women robbed in Bhiwandi, Kalyan

In both the case, no arrest has been made yet. In the Bhiwandi case, a CCTV footage is available and there are possibly two accused, who are seen on a bike. Further probe is on.

In two separate incidents, two housewives were robbed inside their building Bhiwandi and Kalyan. The robbery was worth total Rs1.94 lakhs.

In the first case that happened around 9pm on Tuesday, Priti Pandey, a resident of Gulab Apartment in Kalyan was returning after visiting a local clinic. When she was climbing the staircase an unknown person, who stopped Gandhi and threatened to kill her with a knife if she does not listen to him. Scared, Gandhi remained silent and handed over her jewellery to the accused. The accused fled and a complaint was lodged under section 392 (punishment for robbery) of the Indian Penal Code.

In the second case, Boddula Vijaya, 45, who had returned from Shirdi on May 16 around 3pm was robbed off her mangalsutra. Vijaya was heading towards her building and was walking behind a few steps behind the family. When her husband and two daughters went ahead, the victim followed by a person till she reached the Aishwarya building in Padmanagar. When Vijaya started to climb the stairs, the person asked her to help him to find an address. Vijaya said she did not know of the address and continued climbing. But when she realised that the man was not seen before in the building, she turned back and within few seconds, the man snatched her mangalsutra worth Rs1.50 lakh and fled. A case has been filed with the Bhiwandi police station..

In both the cases, the victims could not see the face of the accused. A police official from the Thane commissionerate said, "In both the case, no arrest has been made yet. In the Bhiwandi case, a CCTV footage is available and there are possibly two accused, who are seen on a bike. Further probe is on."
