Officials from Narcotics Control Board (NCB), on Wednesday, arrested two Peru nationals including a woman from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) in Mumbai with 4.3 kilogram of high-grade cocaine which was concealed in the trolley bags they carried. The duo had landed at the airport by Ethiopian Airlines flight from Adis Ababa.

"The seized cocaine is believed to be sourced from Sao Polo, Brazil. We are probing to who the consignment was to be delivered. The duo are believed to be just carriers and ferried the contraband for money. We are scanning their phones to get more information about their network.

"They have been booked under relevant sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Drugs trafficking attracts Rigorous Imprisonment up to 20 years and penalty and even in certain cases up to death," said an NCB official.

Cocaine causes a short-lived, intense high and immediately followed by the opposite—intense depression and craving for more drugs. It increases heart rate, muscle spasms and convulsions. The drug can also make people feel paranoid, angry, hostile and anxious—even when they aren't high, medical experts said.

In another major crackdown on the drug traffickers, the NCB officers effected a significant seizure of 215 Kilogram of Ganja from possession of three persons at Shirpur in Dhule District on Wednesday.
