The DN Nagar police have arrested a 22-year-old man and are on the lookout for his 21-year-old accomplice for allegedly creating a fake Facebook account of a girl and sharing nude pictures of her and her friends. The arrested accused has been identified as Ravi Shinde.

According to police, Shinde along with his friend Kaval Nagra, who is said to be in the US, created a fake Facebook profile by the name of a woman who works in a private company in Andheri and started sending friend requests to people who are on her friend list.

Police said that after the friend request got accepted, the accused would send the people on the list morphed, nude pictures of the woman and four of her friends. The accused also shared the pictures of the five women on the timeline of the fake account.

The victim soon came to know about the pictures being sent to people known to her and being shared on the Facebook account's timeline.

"The woman soon realised that someone did it to harass her and approached us. On inquiring with the victim and her friends it was revealed that Kaval and Shinde were their mutual friends and they had their photos, which they morphed and posted on the social networking site by creating a fake profile in the name of the victim. We traced Shinde in Thane and arrested him," said a police officer from DN Nagar police station.
