Two minors held for attempting to murder

The police have booked two minors for allegedly attempting to murder a 13-year-old boy, while playing at a ground along the Palm Beach road. According to the police, Gaurav Tandel went to the ground to play around 4.30 pm on Thursday. While playing, he got into a scuffle with the suspects and they started assaulting him. Tandel suffered severe injuries on his head and other parts of his body in the attack.

He was later rushed to DY Patil hospital by his family where he is still recuperating. He is now, reportedly out of danger, a senior police officer said. "Following a complaint registered by the victim's family, we booked the suspects on Friday morning. The exact reason behind the scuffle has not been understood till now. We are interrogating their family members and some onlookers to get more details," the officer added.

The police have booked the suspects under sections 307 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. They were produced before the juvenile court on Friday afternoon. "We suspect the victim and the suspects fought over some mundane issue. In a fit of rage, the suspects might have hit the victim with some hard objects on his head," another police officer said.
