Two of the three persons, who suffered serious burns in a boiler explosion in Mumbra on Saturday, died in hospital on Sunday. The names of the two were given as Phoolchand Yadav, 35 and Nauman Yadav, 32.
The condition of the third person who is also being treated at the Thane Civil hospital is said to be serious. One person died soon after the explosion, which happened in a scrap godown in the Gotheghar area, a little after noon. He was working inside the godown at the time of the accident. The man has not been identified.
Police officials said they had no clue yet about the nature of the explosion and had not traced the owner of the godown. "We are talking to the residents of the area where the explosion happened," a police official said.
