Two persons, including a civic clerk, have been arrested for allegedly taking Rs 10,000 bribe from a accuser, Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) said on Friday.

"Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation's clerk Vijay B Patil and another person, Faizal Haque, had allegedly demanded the bribe from the accuser for not initiating action against him over some issue regarding the dumpers owned by him", Thane ACB's Additional SP Shrinivas Ghadge said.

The accuser approached to the Thane's Navi Mumbai unit of ACB which laid a trap on Thursday and nabbed Haque who allegedly accepted the bribe on behalf of Patil near Kopri bridge in Vashi.

"Patil was also arrested in this connection", Ghadge said.

Offences have been registered against the duo under sections 7, 13(1)(d) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, the ACB added.
