Two held for raping housewife in Kurar

The Kurar police on Friday arrested two persons for allegedly raping a woman. The arrested duo has been identified as Bhushi Rajput and Shambhu Dubey.

According to the police, the 32-year-old victim stays with her husband and children at Appa Pada area of Kurar. In the same neighbourhood, Rajput and Dubey, who work as labourers, also stay.

"As per the victim, she was at home with her children on Friday afternoon when Rajput and Dubey entered her home. The duo told the victim that they have come to know of her extra-marital affair and threatened to inform about the same to her husband and defame her in society. The duo then violated the victim as her husband was not at home," said an officer from Kurar police station.

Following the incident, the duo left the victim's home. "When victim's husband came home later in the day, she narrated her ordeal to him. The couple then lodged a police complaint after which Rajput and Dubey were arrested from Appa Pada area," the officer said.

The victim has been sent to a government hospital for medical examination. Rajput and Dubey have been booked on charges of rape and threatening. They would be produced before a court on Saturday for police remand.
