Two held for duping Surat businessman of Rs3.84 lakh

The crime branch have arrested two men for allegedly duping a Surat businessman to the tune of Rs3.84 lakh for an imported motorbike.

They identified the men as Kalam Abdul Gaffar Shams and Dilshad Mohd Samid Mansuri, who reside in Jogeshwari (East) and are natives of Bihar. The police suspect that the two are part of a gang that is led by Nigerian nationals.

The victim, Nitish Desai, 35, had registered on a website www.bikewale.com for a Kawasaki Ninja bike and got in touch with one Mark Godwin, who was selling the bike for Rs3.5 lakh.

He was put in touch with an agent in Mumbai who asked Desai to deposit the money in two accounts. After he paid the money, he could not be contacted.
