On January 3, two accidents have been reported within the jurisdiction of Manpada police station in Dombivli. Two youth died in a road accident. One has been identified, while another deceased's identity is unknown. A case have been filed with the Manpada police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The first accdient took place in the morning hours around 8.45am on Kalyan-Shil road in Dombivli. According to the police, the deceased, who's identity is yet to be traced, was in his 20's. He was crossing the road when an unknown tempo driver hit him and fled from the spot. He was then taken to a near by hospital, where he was decalred dead on arrival. No one has been is arrested. The unknown accused tempo driver has been charged under section 304a (causing death by negligence) 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicle Act 134.
The second incident took place in the evening hours around 7.15pm on Kalyan-Shil road in Dombivli. The deceased, who has been identified as Liyakat Kotwal, was riding a two-wheeler and an other motor-cycle hit his vehicle.
The youth succummed to his injuries while he was being taken to the hospital. A case has been registered under sections 304a (causing death by negligence) 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code.
Investigation officer, S Borade said, "We have registered the case. No one has been arrested yet. Further probe is on."
