Two die in Dahisar wall collapse

A ten-year-old boy and his father died after a wall of the adjoining compound fell on their house on Sunday morning. Firemen also rescued seven people with minor injuries out of the rubble.

A ten-year-old boy and his father died after a wall of the adjoining compound fell on their house on Sunday morning. Firemen also rescued seven people with minor injuries out of the rubble.

Chandrakant Khandagale, 45, and Tejas Khandagale, 10, were declared dead on arrival at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Shatabdi Hospital, Kandivali West. According to civic officials, the incident happened at Panchratna Chawl on S N Dube Marg in Dahisar east. A 12-feet-high compound wall from the under construction building of a SRA project collapsed on two houses of Panchratna Chawl.

The Dahisar Police have registered a case of negligence under section 304 A of the Indian Penal Code and the police is yet to ascertain whether the planner, engineer or the developer is responsible for the collapse.
