Two dead, one missing after drowning

In two separate incidents on Thursday, two teenagers drowned to death in Aarey colony while another teen drowned in Vikhroli and has been missing since.

The two teens who dies, drowned in a well near Unit number 5 of Aarey Colony in Goregaon (E).

According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday around 10:45 am when Prathmesh Malvankar (17) resident of Andheri and Shubham Sharma (17) resident of Ville Parle, had gone for a swim along with three of their friends. Police said, both the teens didn't know how to swim.

The three other friends left at once to bring help, the bodies were fished out and rushed to the Siddharth Hospital immediately but were declared dead before admission.

In the Vikhroli incident, two siblings drowned in overflowing gutters. The incessant rains which lead to strong currents as water from the nearby hills also poured in, washed away the brothers. While locals could save Salman Qureshi (25), Sonu Qureshi, the younger brother, couldn't be traced. Police said, Sonu is still missing and the fire brigade and a police team have been pressed to action.
