Two five-year-old students of the privately run Joymax English High School at the Ramabai Colony in Ghatkopar East, were injured after pieces of asbestos from the ceiling of their classroom fell on their head. The roof was damaged when two coconuts fell on it from a nearby tree, sending shrapnels raining on the students sitting inside. The senior kindergarten students Pranali More and Farah Sayyed were rushed to the civic-run Rajawadi Hospital by two teachers and were treated for minor injuries at the Out Patient Department (OPD).

"The incident took place at 9 am, following which the children were first taken to the hospital and then sent home. They suffered minor injuries," said Abraham Nadar, Principal, Joymax English High School.

The students were discharged soon after being administered first aid, because the head injuries were superficial. The classroom which faces a small lane inside the colony, was a dimly-lit asbestos covered room.
