A twitter handle, @magnetgas17, believed to be operated by one of the four Kalyan youths who fled to Iraq in 2014 to fight along with the terrorst organisation, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), has been suspended. The suspension of the twitter account came after the Indian security agencies wrote to twitter early this month about the handle tweeting content against India.

According to sources in the agencies, last month the twitter handle came on the radar of the agencies after it posted a tweet threatening to kill all the adult males in India if they fail to accept Islam.

"We have been monitoring the cyberspace and earlier too a twitter handle by the name of @magnetgas17 was suspended on the request of the agencies for such threatening tweets," said a source from the agency. "On April 23, for the first time, a tweet from the handle @magnetgas17 was posted that was directly threatening India. Hence, we immediately wrote to the authorities concerned and got it suspended," he added.

Throwing light on the content of the tweet, the officer said: "the tweet was What IS will do in India ? (mushrik) Ans- Give dawah to accept ISLAM if they accept they are brother if not IS will kill all adult Male". Explaining the tweet the officer informed that mushrik in Arabic means polytheist and dawah means invitation to understand Islam.

The security agencies believe that the twitter account is operated by Fahad Shaikh, one of the four youths from Kalyan who joined ISIS last year. The four youths who were identified as Areeb Majid, Fahad Shaikh, Amaan Tandel and Saheem Tanki from Kalyan had left Mumbai on May 25, 2014 along with other 40 people by an Etihad flight stating that they were off to Baghdad on a pilgrimage. However on May 31, they managed to get away from the group and hailed a taxi that dropped them at Mosul. They then believed to have joined ISIS.

Majeed returned to India in November last year. Following this the National Investigating Agency (NIA) booked him and the other three under section 125 of the IPC (waging war with an Asiatic ally) and sections 16, 18, 20 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
