Sakshi Rajwani, the secondary school certificate (SSC) student of Sacred Heart School in Ulhasnagar, will now get admission in first year junior college (FYJC) in management quota after education minister Vinod Tawde decided to help her.

Rajwani was in a shock after her name did not appear in the FYJC first merit list for the online admission process in city colleges. Rajwani has secured 99.8% in her SSC board examination this year.

Rajwani had faced some technical glitches while filing her online admission form for FYJC with the help of her school. Her name did not appear in the general merit list as well as first the merit list despite her high scores.

After reading about her plight in news reports, the education minister decided to help her. Tawde requested the deputy director of school education to help her in getting admission in Vaze Kelkar College in management quota.

BB Chauhan, deputy director of school education, said: "I did receive a call from education minister Vinod Tawde to help her. We will be calling the girl for a counselling round, which takes place after all three merit lists are declared. In the counselling round, she will be given admission in the college of her choice. Being a high scorer, she will get first preference to choose a college of her liking."
