TV journalist attacked in Mumbai local train

A television journalist was on Wednesday morning attacked in a local train after he boarded a local train from Mira Road Railway Station. The journalist had boarded a crowded train and was assaulted by a group of people inside the local.

A television journalist was on Wednesday morning attacked in a local train after he boarded a local train from Mira Road Railway Station. The journalist had boarded a crowded train and was assaulted by a group of people inside the local. 

Journalist Sudhir Shukla who works for a national news channel was on his way to work and had boarded a local train from Mira Road Station. 

"As per Shukla the group of men had initially didn't allow him to board the train as it was too crowded, but Shukla managed to board the train and was assaulted by a group of around 15-20 people. Shukla sustained a severe head injury and was bled profusely. He then got down at Andheri Railway Station and approached Andheri Government Railway Police where a case is being registered against the group," said another journalist.

An FIR has been registered with Andheri GRP under sections 395 and 397 of IPC. Various CCTV footages are being examined to identify the accused.

A hairline fracture is also detected in journalists right collarbone and has been taken to Cooper hospital again by GRP officials..

Television Journalist Association and Mumbai Crime Reporters Association condemned the attacked and brought the matter to the notice of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who assured action in the matter.

A delegation of reporters would also meet senior GRP officials later in the day to demand swift action against the culprits.
