Mumbai, the city that never sleeps is gearing up for the season's festivities. Leading hotels have planned a plethora of exclusive events to provide its patrons an unforgettable Christmas experience. Diners can choose between rich open buffets or select from set menus, as per their budget.

A five star hotel in Parel is offering a lunch buffet on Christmas Day, priced at Rs2,000 without alcohol, and an extra Rs500 with alcohol.

Kuldeep Bhartee, general manager, ITC Grand Central, narrated how his staff prepares for the joyous occasion. He said: "Each year, we welcome our guesets with an exquisite menu crafted by specialty chefs, both at our 24-hour buffet restaurant, Hornby's Pavilion, and the cake shop at Frederick's Lounge."

Located at Goregaon, The Westin, one of the tallest five star hotels in the western suburbs, offers a variety of options at their exclusive round-the-clock café and Italian restaurant. There is an elaborate array of turkey, Christmas desserts, mulled wine, eggnog for Christmas brunch on December 25.

Coupled with live carol singing, the ambiance is sure to recreate a traditional Christmas feast, priced at Rs2,500 all inclusive per head.

Rahul Dhavale, executive chef, Westin hotel explained how the occasion is celebrated in a special way, by saying: "We are all set to tantalize everyone's taste buds with delicious Christmas treats and delicacies like roast chicken, butterball roast turkey and barbeque pork."

For those with a sweet tooth, Chef Dhavale said that the hotel has to offer desserts like orange chocolate log, cinnamon stars, mascarpone framboise, marzipan and many more goodies.

Marine Plaza hotel overlooks the Arabian sea and boasts of magnificent view of the Queen's Necklace at Marine Drive. To add to the charm, their sea facing restaurant offers an exclusive menu for the lunch and dinner buffets, each priced at Rs2,200.

It is interesting to note that should prospective patrons miss out on either buffet, the five-star hotel also has on offer a midnight buffet, which is economically priced at an all-inclusive cost of Rs1,150.

Speaking about the festival, the hotel's F&B manager Parvez Sheikh said: "Christmas marks the celebration of love and mirth. Our team makes it more pleasurable with an exclusive menu and service."

Ashish Kumar Rai, general manager, The Leela, Mumbai, said that his hotel offers guests an array of scrumptious desserts, cakes and candies. "Our restaurants will also host a special Christmas dinner and a brunch at our poolside would be the just right place for having a memorable time with your loved ones," he added.

Sofitel hotel at BKC has an irresistible spread featuring champagne, mulled wine, Christmas cocktails, live specialty counters, enticing desserts and delicacies from around the world. F&B director Shahrom Oshtori said: "We take great pleasure in offering our guests a very special Christmas meal. Our gingerbread house and live carols will be a wonderful way to experience the magic of Christmas."

The Lalit, another luxurious five star hotel at Sahar Andheri, is offering Christmas delicacies with an exotic variety of Indian, European and Oriental cuisines.

At Christmas brunch buffet at restaurant '24/7', guests can savor delicacies from live barbeque counters by the poolside and enjoy the timeless tunes of live jazz music. It is priced at Rs 1,799 per person (inclusive of food and a glass of mulled wine), and is open from noon to 4pm.

Gregory D'Mello, the hotel's F&B manager suggested: "There is no better place than The Lalit to get yourself into the festive mood, as we offer a Christmas menu specially crafted by our masterchef, and a warm welcome drink by Santa's recipe of mulled wine."
