A day after a bribery case was registered against Kolhapur Mayor Trupti Malvi and her personal assistant, state Cooperative Minister Chandrakant Patil today said he will request dissolution of the municipal corporation if allegations are found to be true.

"If reports that she (Mayor) has been involved in taking a bribe are true, then it is very unfortunate. But, it is important to see what comes out in investigation. If investigations prove that a public representative has been involved in such a heinous crime then I will request the chief minister (Devendra Fadnavis) to dissolve Kolhapur municipal corporation," said Patil, also the guardian minister of the district.

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) had yesterday registered a case against Malvi and her PA Ashwin Gadkari for allegedly taking a bribe.

While Gadkari has been arrested, Malvi evaded arrest by getting herself admitted in a local hospital.

As per the ACB, Malvi had allegedly demanded Rs 40,000 through Gadkari from the complainant for granting him alternative land in the city.

ACB trapped Gadkari yesterday when he was allegedly receiving Rs 16,000 from the complainant.
