Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) is all set to get a new wall portait at its entrance costing a crore. A Nashik based firm known for developing set of the movie Bahubali will conduct renovation works. A potrait depicting Shivaji Maharaj's coronation ceremony adorns the entrance which will soon get high definition glowing lights.

The decision was taken in the general body meeting and an estimate budget of Rs 99,47,300 will soon be taken into discussion for final clearances.

"Few corporators demanded to change the portrait as it has become old. A Nashik based firm will be working on it and we are yet to finalise the design and structure." said a senior civic official. He added that the rich culture of the city would be kept in mind while choosing the structure.

"The entire process and the structure would be presented and the civic chief will have the final call. The project is in its primary stage and we will not be able to give exact specifications" said Sandeep Malvi, PRO, TMC.

While TMC is entrance going swanky, the portraits of Bal Gandharva, Shripad Kolhatkar and Ram Gadkari at Gadkari Rangayatan continue to be in a bad shape. TMC spokeperson commented that the issue is up for discussion and the potraits will be developed soon.
