Three of the five malls that hosted the dna eco-Ganesha celebrations, presented by Tata Housing, will carry out the idol immersions on Thursday.

While Fun Republic, R-City Mall (Ghatkopar) and Viviana Mall in Thane will immerse their idols, Raghuleela Mega Mall (Kandivli West) will immerse its idol on the main Visarjan day. Oberoi Mall (Goregaon East), whose idol is made from sola material, will use the same idol for subsequent Ganeshotsav celebrations.

Wednesday also observed the final day of the Mall Darshan in four of the malls where visitors had the opportunity of participating in various workshops as well as interacting with the sponsors of the event. Raghuleela Mega Mall will continue the darshan and the workshops until Sunday.

Speaking to dna, a spokesperson from Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd, who is one of the sponsors of the event, said, "Club Mahindra supports dna in this endeavour of spreading awareness about eco-friendly material for Lord Ganesha idols. Through this initiative, we hope to spread more awareness among people on how to make this festival a little different and a little kinder on the environment."

Himanshu Jain, MD, Indian Subcontinent of Sealed Air, said, "At Sealed Air, we are driven by the vision 'to create a better way for life' and are committed to environmental stewardship. Participating in dna eco-Ganesha as the Knowledge Partner will enable us in advocating the hygiene and cleanliness standards to dna's readers, which we have set for the industries we serve."

Ankita Joshi, a resident of Juhu, said that the darshans at the malls have been wonderful. "I visited Oberoi Mall twice and R-City Mall once. The workshops were great, but I loved the sincerity in which the celebrations were observed," she said.

Apart from the visarjan, it's also time for our readers and participants of the eco-Ganesha event to gear up for the dna eco-Ganesha Society Awards. Last year's winners have already shared their success stories and are all set to defend their titles. As we had 600 entries last year, we're all set to get more entries.
