Three alleged Suresh Pujari gang members arrested

Three gangsters that have an alleged allegiance with Suresh Pujari gang were arrested on Friday night by the Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) of Mumbai Police. These gangsters were involved in firing cases for extortion outside a wine shop in Ulhasnagar and at a hotel in Nalasopara recently.

Raj Sheshrao Chauhan, 25, Ali Abbas Khan, 27, and Sudhakar Khristopriya, 52, were arrested from Kurla West.

According to Additional Commissioner of Police, KMM Prasanna, AEC team led by inspector Vinayak Vast nabbed the trio from Kurla.

"We have seized a 7.65 bore pistol, two magazines, eight live cartridges, cell phones, and Rs 2.5 lakh in cash from them," Vast said.

Police also seized two motorcycles which were used during the firing at Ulhasnagar in April and Nalasopara in May, he said. A cashier of the hotel was injured in the Nalasopara firing incident.

During the interrogation after arresting the accused, it has come to light that they had met to discuss further plans, and to distribute the money they had received on behalf of Suresh Pujari, an official said.
