The Lok Sabha election followed by assembly polls, and new reforms and strategies by prime minister Narendra Modi have revived youngsters' interest in politics. Thane students are gearing up to watch the swearing-in ceremony of the new Maharashtra chief minister on TV on October 31.

"Politics is now the hot topic of discussion among friends, our debates, extempore and skits are also woven around politics. The recent discussion is all about the swearing-in ceremony of Devendra Fadnavis, his attire and his vision for the state. We all have planned to gather at a common place and watch the ceremony," said Vijaya Ravi, a second-year student pursuing commerce from Bedekar college.

A third-year student from SIES college, Ashish Sahay, said, "PM Modi has always been very stylish in choosing his attire, hence, we all are discussing what would suit the young and would he made a smart choice. Three of my friends are ready with their suggestions, we are eager to see whose choice matches with the CM's."

Ravi said, "Having participated actively in two elections, we all are very much aware of politicians around here and, hence, are comfortable discussing political happenings in and around the city."

"I used to hate politics and politicians, but seeing as how politics has reformed itself, my perception has changed. I am now keen to know about politicians' vision. My friends and I discuss government formation, talk about politicians' dressing sense, and are also planning to watch the swearing-in," said Apporva Sarkar, another student from Bedekar college.
