With Yuva Sena Chief Aaditya Thackeray being announced the party's secretary on January 23, Shiv Sena's leadership will be entering its next generation.
The party will be holding its state executive meeting on Tuesday at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium in Worli. According to party insiders, word is that those in positions of making decisions feel that it is time for Thackeray Junior to play a bigger role in the party.
Aaditya, son of Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, is currently heading the Yuva Sena and is being looked upon as the political heir for the Thackerays.
Shiv Sena has eight secretaries and it is likely that Aaditya would be vested with the responsibility of secretary in addition to being the president of Yuva Sena.
Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut when contacted by DNA maintained that Aaditya Thackeray as it is is the leader of Shiv Sena. Raut said, "Aadiitya is galvanising youngsters and this is what Shiv Sena would benefit from. There is no question of launching him since he is already a Sena leader."
Aaditya Thackeray had mooted the idea of night-life and had demanded hotels and restaurants to be kept open round the clock. Incidentally, the state government in its recent winter session had passed a bill to this effect. Thackeray has also led various student's agitations at Mumbai University.
