The 17-year-old Nallasopara boy who stabbed a 16-year-old girl at her Thane house on Sunday evening had decided to kill himself after commiting the crime.
The boy, Mangesh Salvi (name changed), is a resident of Nallasopara and a salesman by profession. He has been arrested and sent to the Bhiwandi remand home. The girl, who is a student of 11th standard, has been admitted in Kaushalya Hospital, in Naupada.
“The girl had suffered deep injuries in her small intestine. But after surgery, she is stable,” said a doctor at the hospital.
According to BB Patil, deputy commissioner of police, Zone 5, Wagle Estate, “The boy was carrying a knife and an insecticide in a bag. During interrogation he revealed that he wanted to kill the girl by spraying the insecticide and with knife. However, as the girl and her parents screamed, the boy was caught.”
Senior police inspector of Vartak Nagar police station Nitin Bangale said: “The boy has been booked for attempt to murder.
He being a minor, we sent him to Bhiwandi remand home on Monday.”
