Teen ends life because of study pressure

A teenager is committed suicide at her Lower Parel residence on Wednesday afternoon citing pressure of studies in her suicide note. 'I am committing suicide and no one is to be blamed for it. I am stressed because of my studies. I love my parents very much. And teachers should have treated me properly,' were the words written by 17-year-old Meghna Halot.

According to N M Joshi police station, Halot, a HSC student, committed suicide by consuming pesticide on Wednesday afternoon. Halot's mother, who was present at home saw her daughter collapse and alerted the neighbour. On being rushed to the hospital, the teen was declared dead post admission.

"We have recovered a suicide note from her residence where she has stated that she was committing suicide because of pressure of studies and that the teachers from her classes should had treated her properly", said an officer from N M Joshi Marg police station, adding that, "A case of accidental death has been registered and we are further investigating the case."
