Several teachers, including the principal of the Andheri-based international school whose French national trustee was charged with child abuse, have quit their job. Recently, the Bombay High Court struck off the trustee's bail, which was granted to him by a lower court hearing the matter. Not just teachers, many parents also withdrew the admission of their children, claim sources.

The 57-year-old accused was booked under Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, after the parents of a child approached MIDC police in May, 2017. The child was abused in 2016. The court asked the trustee to surrender before MIDC police after the bail was rejected.

On Thursday, a message on five teachers and the principal quitting the school went viral, and the charge of the primary section of the school was taken up by the wife of the accused.

One of the parents said, "It is not just the teachers, many parents are withdrawing the admissions of their children. Out of 40 teachers, almost 16 have quit for different reasons. A trustee sent out a message to all parents clarifying why the teachers quit."

According to the message, teachers who have been associated with the school for eight to 14 years, have quit for reasons like illness, further studies, relocation, long travel, etc. The principal quit after meeting with an accident.
